Anna is 3rd in the nation!

123rd NAA National Target Championships
Aug 6 - 11, 2007
Colorado Springs, CO

With the competition improving, Anna moved up to third place in the Junior Women's Division. This National Outdoor Championship is the last tournament before the final selection of the US Olympic Archery Team. The top archers in the male and female adult divisions will most likely be selected for the US Olympic Archery Team that will shoot in Bejing in 2008.

In placing third, Anna was invited to the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista (near San Diego) for a two week coaching session and evaluation by KiSik Lee, the US National Head Coach. This is the beginning of the selection process for the 2012 Olympics. Anna is excited to be working with KiSik Lee. Training for an Olympic Team that is 5 years away is a big decision and a major commitment. The next couple of months is going to be very interesting.

Anna has moved up to third place in the nation after shooting in only four outdoor tournaments. She shoots again at the state level at the Pacific Coast Championship in Sacramento in September.

Memorial Park is in downtown Colorado Springs in the valley under Pike's Peak. The US Olympic Center is just four blocks north of the archery field.

The banquet was actually in a permanent tent out in the gardens.
Megan takes second place and Anna takes the third place award. Annette (in first place) had to leave right after the shooting was over and did not attend the banquet.
