California State Outdoor Archery Championship

Over 200 archers competed in the CA State Outdoor Archery Championship. Anna Stuffelbeam took first place in the Junior Women's Division (16 to 18 yr olds). The Junior Division shoots the same distances that are shot by the adult women in the Olympics. On Saturday, they shoot 36 arrows at 70 meters in the morning and then shoot 36 arrows at 60 meters in the afternoon. On Sunday, they shoot 50 meters in the morning and 30 meters in the afternoon for a total of 144 arrows (a perfect score is 1440). Anna's winning total of 1192 was the best women's score of the weekend, beating even past Olympic archer and first place winner in the adult division, Janet Dykman, by over 30 points.

Anna shoots again in the National Outdoor Tournament at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center over the weekend of June 29.
